GEFCO's value and its logistical expertise depend on the skills and professionalism of the group's 9,400 employees. In all the subsidiaries throughout the world, GEFCO deploys an ambitious human resources policy that incorporates all the principles of sustainable development: respect for people, the promotion of diversity, international mobility, a commitment to safety.

Encouraging internal promotion and international mobility

With bases in 29 countries, GEFCO is a logistics group with an international dimension, with staff representing 65 nationalities. In all its subsidiaries, the group encourages internal promotion, versatility and international mobility.


International mobility is a priority in GEFCO’s human resources policy: the group’s internationalisation is a real opportunity for employees who would like to pursue an international career. In 2010, 70 employees chose to join another subsidiary in the group.

Adapting skills to tomorrow’s challenges

The transport and logistics industry is continuously evolving: new services, new IT systems, new roles … To respond to these challenges and fully meet manufacturers' demands, GEFCO continuously adapts and develops the skills of its teams.

Staff training is a strong element of the group’s human resources policy. In all its subsidiaries, GEFCO deploys considerable resources to develop skills, and particularly those of its managers.


The "GEFCO Manager" training programme, for example, is provided as part of the GEFCO Campus corporate university. It helps managers to expand their organisational, delegation and participative management skills.
In 2010, 1,150 participants from 24 countries benefited from the programme.

The programme also helps develop a common culture across the group and standardise professional practice at global level.


Promoting diversity

GEFCO is convinced that diversity is a major source of social richness and competitiveness. Within its responsible approach, the group is committed to recruiting more young and elderly employees, people with disabilities and people from cultural minorities.
