Bilingual in French and Spanish, Lourdès will soon be celebrating 20 years of working with GEFCO.
She talks about her career.
‘I joined GEFCO in 1989, when the group set up its operations in Spain. Everything had to start from scratch and I was put in charge of developing the transport of export merchandise. Then I was given the responsibility of securing the sourcing flows to the PSA factory in Vigo.
This experience complemented that of my first job and enabled me to discover industrial logistics. With this dual experience in transport and logistics, I then went on to the post of Logistics Manager for Spain.
In a few years I doubled our warehouse area in the country. For the past 6 months, I have been taking on this responsibility for the whole group: the goal is to reinforce the existing network, and develop this business in the emerging countries.
After nearly 20 years with GEFCO, my own prospects are in line with the development of the company, which has never been as solid as it is today.’
